If you know blasters and blaster modifications you know the Stryfe. There has been no blaster more beaten and abused by the modification generation then the Stryfe. You could call it the AR of blasters, for those gun people that is. Here is our version of a Stryfe body kit. Actually, its pretty simple, a frontend, shoulder stock, and a few things on top. We hit the main open areas of the gun anyway. Just cleaned it up a bit.
In my opinion, Hasbro has a way of leaving their designs unfinished, weather that be on purpose or not, I don’t know. But the majority of their blaster’s front ends leave something to be desired. “Jagged” is the word that comes to mind. But I digress. It leaves good room for design modifications and in this case we took advantage of it. Our front end design slides over the Stryfe’s Nozzle and engaged the mount on the under side of the gun, so a very strong connection. On the bottom of the front end is a stout grip for those of you with large hands and it only take seconds to install. Its just a matter of slipping it on and snugging down on a set screw positioned in the bottom of the grip. No problemo…
The thumbhole stock attaches at two points on the Stryfe and is always a good choice because it make the entire gun fell like one. We made a special lower grip to attach to the bottom part of the stock, this eliminates any drilling and or gluing to the blaster. The length gives a 12″ extension from the back of the gun and can be install in a few minutes as well.
We made two designs for the top end of the gun. The first was just a Picatinny rail to span the clean out shoot for the darts and the other incorporated some built in sights. For this build we went with the straight Picatinny rail design which doubles as a carry handle for the gun. Why you ask? Mostly because it allows for a additional sight options. But just to stay coordinated with the overall gun design we chose our fire sights with two-tone white with orange accents. This really brought the gun design together.
Next to last was a set of orange dual banana mag couplers and matching bumpers. Just to through a little contrast in the mix a black single point sling and strap connector.
